Feather & Nest is my space to share with you a  glimpse of my simple homely life in the country. As you can probably tell by that photo, I’m a child of the 70’s. That’s me being a flower girl at my aunty’s wedding. I was 4 years old.  My love for home making  started all the way back then, when my Barbie doll married Mr Pepper Shaker (a pottery swaggie man who was half the size of Barbie!) got married and lived in all sorts of homey creations I would make for them. Now I’m 45 and my homely life looks a little bit different to the old days but something that has never changed is my desire to create a simple, homely life for myself and my family.

I tend to ramble about the things I love most about this lovely life of ours – decorating and prettying things up with reloved treasures, unschooling my teenage son, pottering in the garden, growing veggies, collecting old stuff at op shops and garage sales, cooking and hanging out in the kitchen, taking far too many photos of old things, and cuddling our cute little chickens and goats.

I have a beautiful partner, Pete, who very occassionally graces this little space with his presence, and between us we have  3 gorgeous teenagers.

It’s a simple kind of life that we are chasing. A simple, homely life.

Thanks so much for popping in and I  hope that  you enjoy seeking the simple life with me. x
