Do you like rainbows and grey skies? Looking out over my early autumn garden, towards the west, I see a rainbow archway to gorgeous grey skies.
Ahhhh, rainbows and grey skies.
The heavy, dark grey sky backdrop promising thirst quenching, green-grass growing rain . The pretty, sparkly, coloured archway that begs you to look upwards in awe. Two contrasting beauties, so entwined and embracing of one another, offering something similar yet, not.
The mood. The softeness. The gentle, blanketing, enveloping greyness. Moody. Electric, excitement. Invigorating and mellowing. Stirring up a weird contrast of the senses. If I was a poet I could come up with something better, more worthy. But alas, I am a mere recorder of details, of aesthetics, of emotions, of memories.
But oh those rainbows and grey skies. I could look upwards all day long if they would only remain.
The sun always shines again, doesn’t it? It just can’t leave well enough alone. It shoves away the clouds and changes the whole feel of the place. Bright, bright blue. Bursting, yellow sun. Not a cloud to be seen.
I suppose we need both. It’s all fair enough.
I just prefer rainbows and grey skies. Tis all.
How about you? Are you a rainbows and grey skies person or do you prefer the bright blue, sunny days?
